-New York is the third most populous state in the United States. It is also the 7th most densely populated state in the US. New York is bordered by Pennsylvania and New Jersey to the south and Vermont and Connecticut, Massachusetts to the east.

-New York city has a population of about 8.4 million people making it the most populous city in the United States. New York is also home to Ellis Island which is the largest gateway for immigration in the history of US.

-New York is also a tourist background in the United States. Some of the most exotic places a tourist can visit are;

Empire State Building

-The Empire State is a 103 story skyscraper in midtown Manhattan, New York. The building is 443 meters above the ground.

-The building stood as the tallest building in the world for 40 years since it’s completion in 1931. It was topped put by the original world trade center in 1970.

-After the September 11th attack, Empire State building regained the crown again as the tallest building but has since been topped down by Burj Khalifa. Empire State building currently stands as the fourth tallest building in the world.

5 Exciting Places To Have Fun In New York

Central Park

-Central park was initially opened in 1857 and stands on a 778 acre piece of land. This urban park is in the central borough of Manhattan.

-The park was redesigned in 1858 by Fredrick Law who won a design competition to expand and improve the park. The project proceeded even during American civil war and was completed in 1873.

-The park was designated as a National historic landmark in 1962. The park is home to very many different species of birds and animals.

Grand Central Terminal (GCT)

-The GCT is a railroad terminal at Park Avenue and the 42nd street in Manhattan, New York. This marvellous terminal covers a space of about 48 acres.

-It is the largest railway facility in the world in form of platforms. The Grand Central terminal was renamed in 1913 after it was renovated.

-There are shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. It is a very crucial hub of transportation as thousands of locals and tourists use this terminal to get to various destinations around United States.

Metropolitan Museum Of Art

-The Metropolitan museum of art is the largest art museum in the United States and among the ten largest museums in the world. It has more than two million works of art from around the globe.

-The museum is an iconic landmark in New York as it attracts millions of tourists annually. Most of historical pieces of art can be viewed in this Museum.

-There are also nice shopping malls and cafeterias around the museum.

Rockefeller Center

-This is another great destination center for tourists. It is well known for ice skating and Christmas tree lighting.

-The complex comprises of 19 commercial buildings on a 22 acre piece of land. Rockefeller center was declared a National Historic landmark in 1987.

-The complex is also home to beautiful boutiques, nice bars, restaurants and numerous shopping malls. -All visitors are advised to have an electronic system for travel authorization, ESTA to see these marvellous places.
