When it comes to women’s fashion jewelry and custom design jewelry it can be difficult to know just what style fits you best. There are a few different types of necklaces that compliment certain neckline and knowing what to wear can make all the difference.
Here are five common necklines and a few different types of necklace that go best with them.
- V Neck- a V-
neck shirt can handle just about any type of necklace but more often than not, V shaped necklaces go best with this type of neck line. V shapes necklaces work with the shape of your shirt rather than against it and can help to elongate the neck and really play up the shape you have created. You can also add hanging necklaces or long necklaces that fall in a V shape.
- Square Neck-
square neck blouses can handle a wide range of necklaces as well but the type that goes best is the short rounded necklace. The softer shape of the round necklace can offten help to make the look less severe without messing with the neck of your blouse. This type of necklace also helps to show off the shape the blouse has created rather than competing with it.
- Turtle Necks and High Necks-
these are somewhat of a blank canvas. Because there is little to no skin showing you are not limited by the shape of your neck line. The necklace that goes best with this neckline however, is a longer necklace. Because this type of shirt can end up making the neck appear short and stumpy, a longer necklace gives the appearance of length and height which is sorely needed with these tops.
- Scoop neck-
with a scoop neck shirt you always want to work with the shape rather than against it. Using a necklace that is also scooped can help accentuate the shape and open up the area. You can also deside on a shorter necklaces with this neck shape as it is open enough that you have plenty of space to show off your necklace. The scoop neck top is one of the most versatile when it comes to overall shape and the end result when adding a necklace.
- Button Up Shirts–
this type is a bit more confusing, because button up shirts are generally a bit buttoned up so to speak; it is best to choose a longer necklace. This helps to elongate the shape and make it seem a bit less closed off which is a great deal of help when it comes to making the shape seem flattering rather than short and closed. Adding a long necklace helps to draw out the shape and open up the area.
These necklace types and necklines are only small sample of the most common. There are vertualy tons of different necklines that are not mentioned here and taking your time to discover what works best is the easiest way to find a necklace that works with your neckline.
