First thing that you should pack for your jungle trip is your GPS unit or compass. This will help you to pick a direction and following the same will allow you to travel safely. This is wise traveling, when you lose your way, which may happen while you travel a dense forest.

Beware of the Dangers

Ensure Safety – Carry Guns

You may carry a gun while travelling the dense forests where there is a possibility of encountering wild animals. If any wild animal is nearby, do not panic and never try to shoot or hunt it. You may end up in legal trouble by doing so, and if your shot goes wrong, you may invite bigger danger. Use the guns for safety and protection. Like you can fire in the air, which will scare away the animal.

Keep a Knife and Machete

Keeping a knife and machete is useful for cutting through the vegetation or building a shelter  where you can take some rest in the evening or night. However, do not unnecessarily cut the vegetation as it can cause loss of energy. Moreover, the sound of cutting travels long in the jungle, and can alert the animals like jaguars, which can track you down. This is something you will never want to happen.

Protection against Malaria

When you are in the jungle, you are exposed to mosquitoes and other poisonous insects. In fact, malaria causes numerous deaths in the jungles. Therefore, you should carry nets and other stuffs to keep away mosquitoes. Keeping a bottle of eucalyptus or camphor oil is also useful to prevent mosquito bites.

Check What are you Wearing

Make sure that you are wearing clothes and footwear when you are going near the water. There could be submerged branches, or current that can pull you down. You will definitely do not want to gift yourself as a feast to leeches, stingrays, crocodiles, piranhas or anacondas. If you do not trade with caution, jungles can be very dangerous.

Also, you must put your clothes on to resist the heat. Excessive exposure to sun could lead to sunburn, sunstroke, dehydration or heatstroke. Make sure that you drink a lot of water and protect your neck and head from direct sun.
