  1. Virupaksha Temple: This is the temple from the time of the reign of the king from the Vijayanagara Empire. This exquisite architecture was built by thousands of builders and is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the extreme power. The temple was said to be built in the 7th Century and was further modified and enhanced by the other rulers of the same empire.
  2. Meenakshi Temple: The temple is dedicated to goddess Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva. The temple is the throbbing visual of art and culture, it is said that due to its extraordinary art the temple made to the nominations of World’s Seven Wonders. The present structure of the temple was built in 1623 and 1655 CE.
  3. Ramanathaswamy Temple: The beautiful art piece is located in the southern region of India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva; the tale behind the temple is believed to be related to Lord Ram who once prayed to Lord Shiva in this temple. Rameswaram is also one of the major pilgrimages in the Hindu mythology and is known be one among the char Dham.
  4. 4. Airaveteshwara Temple: Airavat which was the white elephant of Lord Indra worshipped Lord Shiva and hence the temple got its name. The extensively beautiful stone carvings have made this temple famous worldwide.
  5. Vitthala Temple: The temple with the musical pillars, this is what it is famous for. Another tourist attraction in Southern India, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The pillars of this temple are known to produce musical notes.

The list does not end here; the southern region of India has a lot to explore.It is considered to be the paradise for those who are interested in knowing Hindu culture during the ancient ages.
