Each construction process differs depending on your project team and builders. Building something, whether it is a house, a building or any structure, is an exciting yet tedious experience. Here are the different stages of the construction process.

Construction

Planning

The planning phase is important in any construction process. This is when your architect and engineers meet and determine the purpose, plan and the design of your construction.

Acquisition of building permit

At this point, the blueprint for your building must be submitted to the municipality. When you are issued the building permit, you are one step closer to the construction of your home.

Clearing of the site and excavation

This is the point when plants, vegetation and trees are cleared from the site. The site is also surveyed to see and locate where exactly the structure will be. After the installation of orientation and trench lines, the soil must be tested to see if it is suitable for the project. After the site clearing, the foundation will be excavated.

Pouring of the slab

This is one of the most important processes in the construction process. At this point, the foundation is laid which is usually made from concrete materials. The materials for the foundation usually determines the overall strength of your structure.

Installation of HVAC

This is the point where the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit is installed.

Installation of plumbing

This is the point when sewer and water lines are installed.

Building of the frames

This is when you see the framing skeleton of you house including the frames of your house, the interior walls, roof and interior partitions. This is also the stage when the basement floor is installed.

Installation of rough electrical system

This is when the electrician will install the lighting, switches and outlet.

Interior and exterior work

At this point, the drywall will be installed. The floor will be laid out, the walls and ceilings will be painted. Plumbing and electrical fixtures will also be installed.

Installation of hardwood and carpet

The hardwood floor and carpet are installed.

Near completion

This is the stage when final touches are applied. The site manager will walk you through to see if there is anything you still want to be addressed.

After the construction project is completed, final inspections will be made and when everything is approved, you can acquire the necessary paperwork for your house or building.
