5 Simple Tips to Note when Setting Up in the Garden

What are the things you need to focus on when you’ve decided that setting up the garden is better than having a party in an enclosed space? Read on to find out.

  1. Guest list

Number one factor when setting up in the garden is the number of people who will attend your party. You should plan according to space limitations. You do not invite 50 people to a 30-sqm garden especially if you are also inviting children. No one will enjoy a cramped party space. Make sure that there is enough social space and personal space for your guests.

  1. Theme

Everything that you will do when setting up in the garden will evolve around your theme. It also sets the tone of the party. Choosing a theme will make your work easier because décor and food will be easier to plan. Picking out colors that will go with your theme is essential. Your décor and food should reflect the type of party you are having. If it’s just a small gathering and you feel like you do not need a theme, keep your set up simple but lively.

  1. Food

Make sure that the food you serve are easy to carry and munch on so people can eat while standing or going around. Food that will spoil easily are also a no-no. Save them for indoor parties because temperature will be an issue, and you do not want to risk the health of your guests. It is also best if you have a kid’s section if it’s not an adult-only party. Unless you are planning a formal sit-down when setting up in the garden, do not serve a large main dish. Make use of dishes in small portions that goes well with each other.

  1. Drinks

Setting up in the garden might mean an unlimited bar of drinks to some of your guests. However, it is best not to have a full bar. A self-serve drinks station with a signature drink, beer, and wine is your best option. It is a good way for your guests to socialize while getting drinks. If it is an adult-only party, to serve alcoholic drinks but in moderation.

  1. Garden setting

Seating arrangement might be the most tasking thing to do when setting up in the garden. However, you don’t need to be too formal. Garden parties encourage interaction among guests. It is actually discouraged to sit down during garden parties because it kills the vibe. Arrange tables and chairs in various areas. You can also place different food and drinks choices at different stations so you encourage people to go around. It is also wise to use different types of seating or standing arrangements. Make use of high tables without chairs and bean bags for ground seating.

Whatever setup you choose, make sure that the vibe is not as formal as parties conducted indoors. Keep in mind the simple tips above so you don’t get lost when setting up in the garden.
